Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Cloud Solutions team. This individual will have a passion for cloud computing, open-source technologies, and enjoys working in an environment where every project requires a best-of-breed solution.

Our engineers work on implementing cloud solutions that solve real-world problems and deliver value to our long-term clients. We encourage them to leverage the most cutting-edge cloud platforms and automation tools available and interface with the thought leaders of the industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and deliver modern applications and services across public cloud, private cloud, and customer-managed environments.
  • Build cloud-native and distributed applications using modern APIs, managed cloud services, containers, serverless technologies, and appropriate application frameworks.
  • Modernize and migrate existing applications and workloads to cloud platforms, including refactoring, replatforming, and integration with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.
  • Develop and maintain front-end, back-end, API, and integration components as required by the solution.
  • Build automated development, testing, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning workflows using CI/CD, infrastructure as code, scripting, and cloud-native tooling.
  • Analyze existing applications, codebases, dependencies, and workloads to identify modernization opportunities and appropriate implementation strategies.
  • Translate customer business and technical requirements into well-defined architectures, user stories, engineering tasks, and implementation plans that can be executed across multiple disciplines.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools and coding agents to accelerate code generation, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and codebase analysis while maintaining appropriate engineering review and quality controls.
  • Participate in code reviews, automated testing, troubleshooting, performance optimization, security reviews, and production-readiness activities.
  • Prototype and evaluate new platforms, frameworks, tools, and development methodologies, and help determine when and how they should be incorporated into customer solutions.
Skills you bring with you:
  • Expert-level in static-typed languages like C# and Java and proficiency with Python.
  • Strong experience with React and TypeScript, including component design, state management, API integration, responsive UI development, and testing.
  • Solid foundation of data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Code review, automated testing, observability, CI/CD, secure development, and operational ownership are more contemporary.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted and agentic software development tools such as Cursor, OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent. Experience using AI coding agents to accelerate software development tasks such as code generation, refactoring, debugging, test creation, codebase exploration, documentation, and implementation of well-defined features.
  • A commitment to best practices. We’ll want your opinions on operational processes, DevOps, deployment checklists, and more.
Qualifications:
  • BS or MS in Computer Science preferred, equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years as an Engineer with depth on the application and software side of the stack/
  • 2+ years of experience developing and automating software delivery workflows, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, deployment automation, and cloud services. Familiarity with tools such as Terraform.
Additionally, you willshowcase the following:
  • Ability to move between hands-on implementation and higher-level solution design as project needs evolve.
  • Sound engineering judgment, including the ability to evaluate tradeoffs across scalability, maintainability, performance, security, cost, and delivery speed.
  • Strong ownership mentality, with a willingness to take solutions from initial requirements through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational handoff.
  • AWS CDK/CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, or equivalent is preferred. Experience building automated, repeatable development and deployment environments is a strong plus.
  • Travel typically 5% or less a year

The base salary range for this full-time position in the US is $150,000 - $170,000 annually + bonuses + benefits. Redapt salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
