Senior JAVA API Developer - Backend (Financial Services) Cleveland, Ohio US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States Only @Orchard LLC has an immediate requirement for a Senior JAVA API Backend Developer to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable, high-performance API solutions. To be successful, you will have deep expertise in Java, microservices architecture, API frameworks, and cloud native development. This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on development capability, and the ability to guide a team through complex engineering challenges.

You'll work closely with cross-functional partners, ensure adherence to engineering best practices, and oversee end-to-end solution quality. This position plays a critical role in shaping technical direction, mentoring developers, and ensuring the successful implementation of robust and secure API services. As the Senior JAVA API Backend Developer, you will.

* Drive the direction and roadmap for the microservices architecture. * Provide innovative solutions to complex situations and drive outcomes. * Provide technical guidance and architectural assistance for the Java/Spring framework.

* Coach the other members of the team with technical queries and guide and mentor them to develop top-quality code. * Work in an Agile environment and adapt to the changing needs and requirements of the business. * Always be ready to be hands-on to develop or fix issues to deliver on time and of the highest quality.  * Work closely with leadership and the whole Tech team.

* Guide team members to create test plans and ensure the issues are properly identified, fixed, and tested. * Develop all code incorporating the best practices. Your education, experience, and qualifications should include.

* 5+ years of experience building Java / J2EE / Enterprise Java solutions, including Java frameworks, including Spring, JSF, and Hibernate. * Experience developing and consuming SOAP and REST web services for an operational/production environment. * Designing and maintaining APIs, services, and different payment sources.  * Working with API developers across teams to build new API features at a large scale.

* Experience working with OpenShift, Containerization, and Microservices. * Experience with Java technologies and frameworks, mainly Spring and Hibernate. * Knowledge of client-side technologies like Node JS, Angular JS, Angular 2+, Backbone JS, or Cordova.  * Experience in Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, and MongoDB.

* Experience in integrating Java-based applications with Oracle / SQL Server. * Hands-on experience working on REST API development using Spring Boot & Spring framework.  * Experience coding to prevent hacking and other vulnerabilities. * Strong collaboration and communication skills within distributed project teams and in an Agile environment.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Strong REST API development and integration experience. Compensation: Compensation ranges are determined by several factors, including skill set, experience, licensure and certifications, and location.

The anticipated range for a base salary for this role is between $90K & $120K. There may be some flexibility for exceptionally qualified individuals.
