Job Description Are you a Senior Java Developer looking for an opportunity to make a lasting impact on a large-scale modernization initiative. Our client, a well-established leader in the financial services industry, is seeking an experienced Java developer to help modernize a mission-critical insurance platform that has been the backbone of the business for decades. This is an opportunity to work on a highly visible transformation project, replacing legacy mainframe technology with a modern Java-based architecture while helping shape the future direction of the platform.

What You'll Be Doing As a senior member of the development team, you'll play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise applications while collaborating with architects, business partners, and fellow engineers. This position offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, mentor other developers, and contribute to long-term modernization efforts. Responsibilities include: Design and develop scalable Java applications supporting critical business operations.

Lead the development of new features and enhancements as part of a large enterprise modernization effort. Participate in architecture discussions and help drive technical decisions. Build and maintain RESTful APIs and modern web applications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and recommend long-term improvements. Mentor junior and mid-level developers while promoting engineering best practices.

Continuously improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability. Required Qualifications 8+ years of professional software development experience. Strong experience with Java 17+ and modern Java development practices.

Hands-on experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security. Experience developing RESTful APIs. Strong SQL and relational database experience.

Experience with JUnit and automated testing. Front-end development experience using Angular, TypeScript, and HTML5. Experience using Git and Azure DevOps.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
