The right lab information management system is critical to operations, clinical outcomes,

client relationships, and more. Applying system thinking to these challenges supports our desire for

TEKsystems is looking for a Sr. Developer to work on a complex distributed platform that scales globally

across the entire Reference Lab operations ecosystem. You will participate in everything from high-

level design, to defining REST APIs, to writing the code and tests. You will be working on a platform

that is composed of numerous technologies and leverages PAAS infrastructure in both AWS cloud.

This is an exciting and high-profile project that will involve challenging problem solving and

architecting a solution from the ground up.

Application Developers build computer applications to meet business informational needs and

requirements. Design, code, test, debug, and document programs based on technical configurations

developed by analysts and project teams. Support and troubleshoot existing applications. Evaluate

and analyze business requirements for new systems and system changes.

IN THIS ROLE –

Together with a cutting-edge technologies & product development team using (AWS serverless

technologies, RDS, & Spring boot etc.) you are responsible for technical design, code, and tests

based on requirements developed by you and product owners.

You will develop solution design(s) to meet functional specifications, and ensure design

seamlessly integrates with up/down stream applications.

You will work closely with product development and support team ensure customer

expectations are being met

You will act as steward of the application, ensuring that security, technical debt, system

reliability and stability are addressed

We are a fast-paced development team, and we are operating under a high level of disciplined

Software Development Life Cycle. We expect engineers at this level to leverage enterprise AI tools —

such as GitHub Copilot or Claude, AI-assisted code review, or AI-powered observability — to work

smarter and mentor others in doing the same. The candidate should appreciate what it means to be

a professional engineer, meaning that you ensure to deliver quality and care to maintain & document

integration specifications and testing plans, at all phases.

Coming in as an experienced SRE Developer, we need you to have these technical assets under your

belt: seasoned programming skills in Java/Kotlin or similar programming language with continuous

integration framework using GitHub, Maven, & Jenkins. You should be familiar with object-orientated

analysis and design, as well as Domain-Driven Design (DDD) software design methodology that is

used to build scalable transaction systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs based on technical configurations

developed by analysts and project teams. Estimates and tracks time required to complete

work, for project budgeting and financial tracking.

• Develop program designs to meet technical configurations, ensuring that resulting systems

will operate efficiently and reliably. Understands business functions supported by the

application to encompass within the design framework. Ensures design integrates with other

related systems.

• Monitors system performance, identifying problems and implementing solutions; tunes and

ensures systems are running at optimum speed and efficiency. Ensures systems are kept

maintained and current; develops and maintains scripts to automate system components;

configures and installs software, maintenance packages, supporting products and other

features.

• Supports, updates, and maintains existing systems in response to business needs, system

problems, or other factors. Coordinates with project teams.

• Identifies business needs, assesses available technologies, and develops and presents

solutions.

• Provides a high level of customer service, partners with end users in the resolution of

problems or in deployment of new applications.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

• 7 or more years of software development experience in maintaining new & legacy solutions

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• AI-enabled SDLC experience (hands on), to accelerate software delivery, improve code

quality, generate and review tests, support troubleshooting.

• Experience with multiple languages including Java/Kotlin, Python, etc.

• Experience working with RESTful APIs, MySQL, GitHub actions or Jenkins

• Strong experience to lead the development of technical module

• Strong experience in Cloud development – AWS or GCP

• AWS Serverless Technologies – Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, etc.

• Experience with PostgreSQL is preferred

• Experience with Relational & No-SQL databases

• Mature understanding and experience with secure coding and design principles

• Experience in transforming business requirements into elegant design and quality code, & in

unit testing

• Experience in leading initiatives, process improvement, and tech debt planning

• Experience working in Agile Scrum team(s)

• Understanding of technical design patterns to ensure overall quality and stability
