Job Description

We are seeking an Application Architect III to join our Developer Experience team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in DevOps, solution architecture across heterogeneous platforms, and enterprise SDLC practices and a proven ability to design, enable, and govern scalable developer platforms and tooling that improve delivery speed, quality, and resiliency.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and evolve enterprise technical standards, platforms, and common services for developer enablement.
  • Lead solution design for integrated, high-volume applications with emphasis on resiliency, performance, and security.
  • Drive DevOps automation and CI/CD adoption using enterprise tools and governance.
  • Conduct hands-on proofs of concept to assess technologies, patterns, and their impact on platform solutions.
  • Partner with near-shore and off-shore teams to deliver designs, implementations, and documentation in an agile model.
  • Provide clear technical guidance to developers and engineers and concise status to product owners and scrum masters.
  • Advance developer experience by improving workflows, controls, and platform capabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Broad solution design experience across Linux and Windows with Java, .NET, Python, JavaScript, vendor packages, Tomcat/JBoss, and data/analytics
  • DevOps expertise with Jenkins, Ansible/Tower, Jira, Git/Bitbucket, Artifactory, SonarQube, GitHub and GitHub Actions, Harness
  • Design or development of complex, integrated, high-volume systems using caching, replication, load balancers, and clustering
  • Security knowledge including AAA, token-based authentication, OAuth/OIDC, and encryption
  • Hands-on POC capability and ownership mindset with minimal oversight
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and status reporting
  • Process expertise across the SDLC: requirements, build, test, deploy, release, operate
  • Proficiency with PowerShell, databases, and either .NET or Java/J2EE application development

Preferred Skills:

  • Bank of America experience and familiarity with Horizon enterprise SDLC tooling
  • Microservices and SOA enablement with API management, Kubernetes/Docker, service gateways/meshes, Swagger/OpenAPI
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools
  • Experience with modern web UI frameworks such as Angular or React
