Job Description:

Seeking a hands-on Technical Lead / Application Development SME with 12+ years of combined experience in Java, Collibra, and Edge Server.
 
This role actively designs, develops, and integrates enterprise data solutions, focusing on metadata management, data ingestion pipelines, and automation. The Technical Lead will be responsible for strategic planning, team leadership, and providing technical oversight, while also contributing to implementation and ensuring data governance best practices are enforced across platforms.
 
In addition to mentoring developers and providing technical direction, this role partners closely with stakeholders, architects, and developers to deliver scalable, mission-critical solutions.
 
YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership Strategy

  • Define the technical roadmap for Collibra integration, Edge Server implementation, and data governance automation.

  • Align Collibra data governance strategies with business objectives and enterprise architecture.

  • Drive the adoption of best practices for data ingestion, metadata management, and workflow automation.

Collibra Edge Server Integration

  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of solutions by integrating Collibra API, Java-based microservices, and Edge Servers.

  • Ensure seamless metadata ingestion using Collibra Edge Server, optimizing ingestion pipelines for performance and reliability.

  • Guide teams in developing custom connectors to integrate databases, cloud storage, and enterprise applications with Collibra.

Data Ingestion Governance Automation

  • Lead the implementation of event-driven data ingestion using Edge Servers, Apache Kafka, or AWS Glue.

  • Ensure automated metadata extraction, data lineage tracking, and governance workflows in Collibra.

  • Establish and enforce data quality, cataloging, and governance policies in collaboration with Data Stewards and Enterprise Architects.

Technical Oversight Architecture

  • Review and approve Java-based microservices and APIs for Collibra and Edge Server integration.

  • Ensure scalability, performance, and security of data ingestion and governance solutions.

  • Lead cloud-based deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and implement CI/CD pipelines for automation.

Security Compliance

  • Implement authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth, SAML, LDAP) for secure data access.

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (ex FedRAMP, etc.) in metadata management and data ingestion.

  • Enforce role-based access controls (RBAC) within Collibra to protect sensitive data.

Team Collaboration Stakeholder Management

  • Lead cross-functional teams, working with CDO, Data Architects, Engineers, and Business Stakeholders to enhance data governance initiatives.

  • Conduct technical workshops and training on Collibra, Edge Server, and best practices for metadata management.

  • Drive Agile development practices and coordinate with DevOps teams to streamline deployments.

Automation AI Integration

  • Leverage AI/ML capabilities within Collibra for data quality monitoring and anomaly detection.

  • Automate metadata ingestion, data lineage, and governance processes to improve efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 12+ years of combined experience in Java, Collibra, and Edge Server.

  • 4+ years of experience leading and managing large-scale Federal IT projects.

  • Experience defining technical roadmaps for data governance and integration platforms.

  • Proficiency with Java-based microservices and custom connector development.

  • Experience with event-driven ingestion tools (Kafka, AWS Glue) and automated metadata/lineage workflows.

  • Ability to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant data governance solutions (OAuth/SAML/LDAP, FedRAMP, RBAC).

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with Agile development and DevOps practices.

  • Experience leveraging AI/ML for data quality monitoring and automation.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
