Java Software Engineer, Mid

The Opportunity:
As a software developer, you know how to create applications that are user-friendly, optimal, and customizable. We need a software developer like you to help support our clients' technology and improve their business workflows. You'll collaborate with your team as you build integrated solutions from scratch, implement customizable features to enhance existing systems, and support site maintenance.

This role will support a client's Solutions Business Management (SBM)program. We're lookingfor a dynamicsoftwaredeveloper with Java-rich client and web application development experience and strong core Java knowledge. You will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, and modifying enterprise-wide systems and applicationsoftware. This is a client with an important mission in support of the U.S. Navy. Through this work, you can feel a part of something bigger and of national significance.

You Have:

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering or software development

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript for responsive web interfaces, object-oriented principles and design patterns, and Java for backend development, including Spring MVC

  • Experience using Git for version control and with software configuration management tools and processes to ensure code integrity

  • Experience with Microsoft ADO for project management, continuous integration, and deployment strategies

  • Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, T-SQL, or SQL Server and tools such as TOAD for database management

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Waterfall

  • Knowledge of object-oriented principles and design patterns in practical software development

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or IT

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification such as Security+ CE, or SSCP Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience in Java, including Spring Boot or Hibernate, and .NET, including C#, .NET Core, or ASP.NET MVC

  • Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and service-oriented design

  • Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience with containerization, including Docker or Kubernetes, and orchestration tools

  • Experience with front-end technologies such as Angular, React, or Blazor

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, software design principles such as SOLID, DRY, or KISS, design patterns, and DevOps tools and practices

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration

  • Top Secret clearance

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification such as CISSP, CASP+, or Security X Certification

  • Java or .NET Certifications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
