Role: Senior Java Engineer
Locations: Charlotte, NC and Irving, TX:
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days onsite weekly
Contract Length: 18 Months, with potential extension or conversion
Bill Rate: $53/hr - $57/hr

Role Overview
In this role, you will support moderately complex Software Engineering initiatives involving enterprise cloud-native applications, microservices, event-driven architectures, and AI-enabled solutions. You will design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable Java applications and APIs while collaborating with architects, product owners, and cross-functional technology teams. The position will contribute to AI and Generative AI integrations, production support, application modernization, and engineering productivity improvements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build and support event-driven solutions using Kafka.
  • Develop and maintain APIs for enterprise applications.
  • Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Leverage AI tools and technologies to improve engineering productivity and solution capabilities.
  • Ensure application reliability, security, and performance.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years building cloud-native microservices. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments is required. Must have strong communication and collaboration skills.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong experience in Java (Java 17/21 preferred) and object-oriented design principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and REST API development.
  • Experience designing and developing Microservices-based architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka for event-driven and asynchronous processing.
  • Experience with MongoDB and NoSQL database design.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift (OCP) deployments, scaling, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Understanding of cloud-native application development and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of API security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS).
  • Demonstrated experience on at least three of the following key services: Azure AI Foundry, Azure Machine Learning, Document Intelligence, Azure AI Search, Vertex AI, Document AI, LLMs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AI/Generative AI solutions, including integration with LLMs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, Copilot, etc.), AI-powered application development, and prompt engineering.
  • Familiarity with vector databases, RAG architectures, and AI agent frameworks.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, or Prometheus.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture and security best practices.
  • Financial services domain experience.
  • Experience with Data APIs and integration platforms.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as OCP, Google Cloud Platform.
