We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President to join our Middle Office Engineering Platform team. This role is located in Pittsburgh or New York.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support modernization of Middle Office applications, Data ingestion and distribution platforms.

  • Build scalable pipelines to handle growing data volumes and real-time processing needs.

  • Improve platform performance, resilience, and fault tolerance.

  • Modernise legacy components and optimise end-to-end data flows.

  • Collaborate with product, client delivery, and operations teams to meet business and client commitments.

  • Enable API-driven, extensible services for flexible data access.

  • Balance modernisation with ongoing delivery to minimise disruption.

  • Enhance data quality, observability, and operational stability.

  • Support future analytics and reporting through high-quality, governed data flows

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience as a Java Software Engineer with a track record of delivering high-impact, scalable solutions. Minium 15 years of experience is required.

  • Advanced proficiency in Java (Java 17+), including concurrency and multithreading concepts.

  • Deep understanding of Java SE/EE, Spring (including Spring Batch and Boot), Hibernate, and related technologies.

  • Experience with microservices architecture, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs.

  • Hands-on experience with Kafka, Spark, and IBM Message Queues (MQ) for event-driven architectures.

  • Strong background in database design and SQL, including both relational (Oracle, SQL Server) technologies.

  • Familiarity with Dockers, Containerization, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks (Junit, BDD), and modern DevOps practices (Docker, GitLab CI/CD).

  • Experience with front-end development using Angular, HTML5, and JavaScript.

  • Practical experience with GraphQL and RESTful API design and implementation.

  • Prior experience with AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Windsurf) is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (Confluence, JIRA, Kanban).

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills; ability to mentor and influence team members.

  • Knowledge of multi-tier systems and ability to design and develop components of critical multi-tiered systems.

  • Knowledge of tradeable financial products, security pricing, and global exchanges is a significant plus.

  • .Net knowledge is a plus for asset migration but not mandatory.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $120,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.ย 
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
