Job description

ABS Digital Product Development is driving the transformation of engineering and classification through advanced digital technologies, automation, model-based engineering, and integrated product lifecycle management solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Creo Toolkit Developer to help design, develop, and support next-generation engineering applications that integrate PTC Creo Parametric and Windchill within a modern digital engineering ecosystem.

This role offers the opportunity to work on strategic initiatives that improve engineering productivity, automate complex workflows, and support the digital transformation of the maritime and offshore industries.

The Senior Creo Toolkit Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining custom applications, plugins, and automation solutions using PTC Creo Toolkit. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Creo Parametric customization, C/C++ development, and Windchill integration technologies, with a deep understanding of engineering design processes and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.

This individual will collaborate with software developers, CAD administrators, engineering stakeholders, and solution architects to create innovative solutions that streamline engineering workflows and enhance the user experience across ABS engineering platforms.

What You Will Do:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain custom applications using PTC Creo Toolkit (C/C++).
  • Develop integrations between Creo Parametric and PTC Windchill utilizing Windchill APIs and services.
  • Create automated engineering workflows, custom user interfaces, and productivity-enhancing CAD tools.
  • Develop solutions for managing CAD data, metadata, attributes, configurations, and lifecycle processes.
  • Support Model-Based Definition (MBD), digital thread, and digital engineering initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving Creo customizations, Windchill integrations, and CAD data management.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and software quality initiatives.
  • Prepare technical documentation, deployment procedures, and user guides.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to engineering systems and workflows.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 5 years of hands-on development experience with PTC Creo Parametric and Creo Toolkit.
  • Experience and understanding of Creo surface creation and editing.
  • Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming.
  • Experience developing custom commands, menus, dialogs, event handlers, and automation within Creo.
  • Experience integrating Creo applications with PTC Windchill.
  • Working knowledge of Windchill APIs, including:
    •  Windchill Java APIs
    • REST Services
    • Query and data access frameworks
    • Workflow and lifecycle-related APIs
  • Understanding of CAD data management and PLM best practices.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and software development lifecycle experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Windchill customization and server-side development.

Hands-on experience using Creo Paramatric.

Experience with Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#.

Familiarity with Model-Based Engineering (MBE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Knowledge of engineering automation, digital thread, and digital twin concepts.

Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Experience in maritime, offshore, manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial engineering environments.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Azure DevOps, or similar development platforms.
