Job description

Job Summary:
The Swift Group is a privately held, mission-driven services and solutions company headquartered in Reston, VA. They are looking for a Cloud Engineer to support the development and maintenance of cloud-native solutions, ensuring security, scalability, and compliance with requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain security controls for cloud and enclave systems, including IAM, vulnerability management, system hardening, and AMI refresh cycles; automate processes where applicable.
• Manage AWS infrastructure including S3 buckets, EC2 instances, subnets, auto-scaling groups, IAM users/groups, load balancers, security groups, and network ACLs.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resource utilization and cost; identify and implement efficiency improvements.
• Apply DevSecOps principles throughout the system lifecycle; deliver releasable software each iteration in alignment with Agile frameworks.
• Design and document system architecture from technical requirements; develop and maintain system maintenance and end-of-life plans.
• Establish and track metrics for system performance, availability, and security.
• Collaborate with users, developers, and Sponsor organizations to identify priorities, resolve infrastructure issues, and support security accreditation.
• Mentor team members on cloud services including C2S, AWS, and load balancing.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and knowledge management across all job duties.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, CIS, or Computer Engineering; minimum 10 years of cloud engineering experience.
• Minimum 10 years of software development experience.
• Expertise in AWS services: S3, EC2, KMS, Lambda, MSK, SageMaker, Docker, Kafka, and Kubernetes; strong background in AWS security and access controls in high-security environments.
• Experience with Unix/Linux OS, Java, Python, and TypeScript.
• Experience developing and supporting automation and orchestration for IAM services.
• Experience configuring and maintaining auditing tools, OAuth-based MFA solutions, and RBAC.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-starter with demonstrated leadership, time management, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• US citizenship with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• All candidates undergo an additional security review upon joining.
Preferred:
• Experience with Agile development frameworks.
• Experience maintaining Java and PHP applications on Windows.
• Proficiency in HTML and Bash scripting.
• Experience with Cypher query language or Neo4j.
• Database administration experience.
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience deploying and optimizing infrastructure to support LLM use and training.
• 3+ years of software development experience within the Intelligence Community.
