Java Developer/Tester
Location: Manassas, Virginia (Onsite)
Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense --Secret clearance as a condition and continuation of employment.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Java Developer with experience in mid-to-front-end stack development. This role involves developing, integrating, and troubleshooting software systems within a Linux/Unix environment. The position requires hands-on experience in writing unit and component tests, working with multithreaded applications, and refactoring complex software.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Java-based applications, with a focus on multithreading.
  • Write effective unit and component tests for new and existing code.
  • Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and refactor software systems to improve performance and stability.
  • Operate within a Linux/Unix development environment.
  • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle in an Agile setting.
  • Utilize bash scripting for various development and operational tasks.
Required Qualifications
Education: A B.S. in Computer Science, Software/Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline is required.
Experience: Candidates must have proven Java development experience, including multithreading. A strong background in Linux/Unix development, integration, and troubleshooting is necessary. This includes hands-on experience writing unit and component tests for code not originally authored by the candidate, and a combined total of 3+ years in Linux, scripting/software development, and configuration management.
