Description
Chasm Team
GAM (Global Appropriateness Measures)
https://gameasures.com/
Lead Fullstack Engineer - Java or React & AWS
About Us
GAM is a consortium of physicians dedicated to advancing patient outcomes through data-driven insights and innovative metrics rooted in clinical expertise. We are the gold standard in healthcare appropriateness measurement, and our primary focus is on measuring clinical waste-a priority area for health systems, health plans, self-funded employers, and data analytics companies.
We're a fast-moving, high-growth company helping people navigate healthcare smarter - saving money, avoiding unnecessary care, and getting better outcomes. We partner with employers and other industry leaders to help their teams make better healthcare decisions.
If you're looking to join a mission-driven team where you can make an impact, learn and grow quickly - you're in the right place.
About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on, experienced Lead Java Fullstack Engineer to help drive the development of our cloud-based healthcare intelligence platform. In this high-impact role, you'll work closely with the CTO and cross-functional teams to build scalable, user-centric applications that support client onboarding, data visualization, and real-time insights.
This role blends front-end finesse with back-end architecture and infrastructure leadership. You'll play a critical role in shaping the direction of our technology stack, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for users-from initial onboarding through long-term platform engagement. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, is passionate about product quality, and brings strong communication skills to a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
This role will work remotely with some travel. Priority will be given to candidates who live in Austin or Nashville.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable fullstack applications using Java (backend) and React/JavaScript (frontend), ensuring robust functionality and exceptional user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with the CTO, Data and Customer Success teams to deliver client-ready solutions.
  • Architect and optimize cloud-based infrastructure using AWS services to ensure performance, reliability, and security across our platform.
  • Translate client requirements into effective, elegant technical solutions that align with our product roadmap and mission.
  • Provide hands-on mentorship to onshore and offshore engineers and help establish technical standards, code quality, and best practices across the team.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders via email and other channels to ensure successful delivery and support.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and propose innovations that enhance our tech stack and product capabilities.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of fullstack engineering experience with deep expertise in Java OR React/JavaScript.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.) with hands-on experience in deploying and managing cloud-based applications.
  • Proven ability to lead engineers and technical projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, client-centric environment.
  • Passion for intuitive user interfaces and user-centric product design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities while maintaining accountability and structure.
  • Experience working in healthcare or data-driven environments is a plus but not required.

What We Offer
  • The opportunity to make a real impact in a meaningful space
  • High-ownership role at a rapidly growing company
  • A collaborative, mission-driven team
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package
