Job description

Responsibilities Noblis is helping FAA manage large and complex telecommunications and information management programs that use state of the art technologies to deliver enterprise infrastructure services essential to the safe and efficient operation of the largest, safest, and most complex aviation system in the world. This is an opportunity for an experienced, driven software solutions architect to join a dynamic team working to implement and manage the FAA's highly-visible System Wide Information Management (SWIM) program as part of the NextGen transformation strategy. Build, harden, and operate containerized SFDPS components on Red Hat OpenShift or equivalent Red Hat-based container platforms; implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging necessary for FAA Efficiency Critical requirements and cloud migration. Primary responsibilities - Design and implement container orchestration patterns in OpenShift/Kubernetes (deployments, Operators, Helm charts).

- Build and maintain production-grade CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab/ArgoCD) with automated testing and promotion workflows. - Implement infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible) for reproducible environments in the FAA cloud. - Implement observability: metrics (Prometheus), logging, tracing, and dashboards.

- Work with security and compliance teams to align deployments with FedRAMP/FISMA/FAA baseline requirements. - Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analyses; drive corrective actions to improve availability and maintainability. - Participate in Agile delivery: mentor junior engineers and contribute to sprint planning and backlog grooming.

- Ability to obtain and maintain FAA Suitability. Required Qualifications - Bachelor of Science degree and 9 years of relevant professional experience. Substitutions: Any subsitutions are subject to further customer review and approvals * or Associates degree and 11 years of relevant professional experience * or Masters degree and 6 yars of total relevant experience.

- Hands-on experience managing containerized applications, cloud platforms and software development background including robust experience with Java in building cloud-native and scalable services. - Proficiency in a language suited for high-throughput systems, such as Java, Go, Python, or .NET backend development - Strong experience with Red Hat OpenShift or RHEL-based container environments. - Solid experience with C and C++ for performance-critical or legacy components-ability to read, maintain, and improve native system code.

- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Groovy) used to enhance CI/CD pipelines, monitoring automation, and incident response. - Contribute actively to code reviews, application performance tuning, and troubleshoot complex multi-language application stacks. - Hands-on with Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and Kubernetes primitives.

- Familiarity with monitoring and logging stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog). - Experience operating in a FedRAMP-authorized or government cloud environment preferred. - Proven experience with at least one major message broker, such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, Solace, or NATS.

- Experience with data serialization formats, specifically JSON, XML, Avro, or Protobuf. - Knowledge of messaging protocols like AMQP, MQTT, JMS, or STOMP. - Understanding of asynchronous messaging patterns, pub-sub, and point-to-point queues.

- Comfortable collaborating across cross-functional Agile teams. Desired Qualifications - CKA/CKAD, RHCE, RHCA, or relevant cloud certs (AWS/Azure/GCP Gov). - Experience with service meshes (Istio) and Kubernetes Operators.

- Prior FAA program support experience or work on ATM/aviation systems. - Experience with Cloud-based messaging services (e.g.AWS SNS/SQS, Azure Service Bus, Google Pub/Sub). The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status.
