Job Description

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to help shape the future of Trusted Content within the Artificial Intelligence and Autonomy function. In this role, you will work with software developers, product management, operating segment stakeholders, customer co-innovation teams, and the AI Center of Excellence to define, develop, and scale Trusted Content capabilities that improve customer outcomes across design, operations, and maintenance workflows.

You combine strong systems and automation engineering experience with curiosity, collaboration, and execution discipline. You are an expert in Rockwell Automation technologies and applying Rockwell Automation products. You are comfortable working across ambiguity, contributing to Trusted Content methods and standards, and turning emerging ideas into repeatable solutions, proofs of concept, and scalable practices that support both internal teams and customer-facing innovation efforts.

You will report to the Engineering Manager, Trusted Content Innovation.

Your Responsibilities:

Application Development

  • Innovate the future of how customers leverage Trusted Content across design, operations, and maintenance use cases and workflows
  • Design integrated and complex automation systems using Trusted Content through modern methodologies
  • Research and develop methodologies using artificial intelligence to harvest, develop, and validate Trusted Content

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Innovation Software Developers to develop requirements and review output
  • Work closely with the AI center of excellence, and customer co-innovation teams
  • Collaborate with operating segment product management and development teams to influence and support product portfolio integration of Trusted Content needs

Customer Co-Innovation

  • Collaborate with T&I Customer Co-Innovation teams on engagements related to Trusted Content

Other

  • Contribute to Trusted Content standards, policies and procedures
  • Support global events such as Automation Fair, TechEd, or others as needed
  • Support customer or operating segment projects on site as necessary

What Success Looks Like:

  • Customer Outcomes: Positive results leading to expansion, advocacy, and ability to reference
  • Structured Engagements: Co-innovation projects are well-structured, consistently executed, and visible across stakeholders
  • Scope Integrity: Engagements stay tight - customer expectations and internal commitments remain in sync throughout delivery
  • Team Alignment: Drive alignment across diverse stakeholders across Rockwell Automation
  • Clear Visibility: Transparent tracking of engagement progress, outcomes, and business impact
  • Scalable Outcomes: Increasing number of repeatable use cases and scalable opportunities identified

Who You Are:

  • Naturally collaborative. You bring people together rather than working around them, and you do it without making it feel like work
  • Flexible. New initiatives do not have a strict guide. You build the process while running it and stay grounded when things shift.
  • Execution-oriented. Ideas energize you but completion satisfies you. You are the person who follows up, closes the loop, and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Credible across levels. You can be in an SVP meeting demonstrating a proof of concept in the morning and working with principal engineers and architects in the afternoon planning a future workflow or innovation.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 25% of time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience in systems or applications engineering within industrial automation.
  • Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of Rockwell Automation products like Logix, Optix, etc.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI, such as Python, C++, C#, or Java
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
  • Design, train, and evaluate AI models and algorithms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting complex data sets
  • Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for deploying AI solutions
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Present concepts and strategies to fellow developers and management
  • Understanding of ethics and best practices in AI development
What We Offer:
  • Health Insurance including Medical, Dental and Vision
  • 401k
  • Paid Time off
  • Parental and Caregiver Leave
  • Flexible Work Schedule where you will work with your manager to enjoy a work schedule that can be flexible with your personal life.
