Job description


A major global financial institution in New York is seeking a Japanese-English Bilingual Client Onboarding & Compliance Analyst to support its corporate banking clients.
This is a client-facing position serving as a liaison between Japanese corporate clients, relationship managers, and internal KYC/compliance teams. Prior banking experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong bilingual communication, client service, operations, or administrative experience are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
  • Support onboarding of new corporate clients and ongoing KYC reviews.
  • Collect and review corporate documents, ownership information, identification documents, and other required materials.
  • Communicate documentation and compliance requirements clearly to Japanese corporate clients in both Japanese and English.
  • Coordinate with relationship managers, compliance teams, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Follow up on outstanding documentation and manage multiple cases to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain and update client information in internal systems.
  • Respond to client inquiries and help resolve documentation discrepancies.
  • Assist with process improvement and other departmental projects.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Fluent Japanese and English (speaking, reading, and writing) required.
  • 1+ year of professional experience.
  • Banking, financial services, KYC/AML, client service, operations, or administrative experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong client-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365.
  • Knowledge of KYC/AML, CIP, CDD, EDD, OFAC, or FinCEN requirements is a plus.

Japanese Language:
This position requires daily business communication with Japanese corporate clients by phone, email, and virtual meetings. Candidates must be able to conduct these communications professionally in Japanese without interpretation or translation tools.

Must Commute in NYC:
