A Japanese anime job typically involves working in the anime industry, which includes roles such as animators, voice actors, scriptwriters, translators, producers, and marketing specialists. These jobs contribute to the creation, localization, and promotion of anime series and films. Opportunities can be found in animation studios, streaming services, and licensing companies, both in Japan and internationally.
To thrive in a Japanese Anime career, such as an animator, illustrator, or production staff member, you need strong drawing skills, an understanding of animation principles, and often a relevant degree or specialized training. Familiarity with animation software like Adobe After Effects, Toon Boom, or CLIP STUDIO PAINT, as well as some knowledge of storyboarding, is typically required. Creativity, teamwork, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are critical soft skills in this field. These skills are essential to create appealing, high-quality content and effectively contribute to collaborative anime production environments.
Professionals in the Japanese anime industry often start as in-between animators, production assistants, or junior illustrators, gradually moving up to roles such as key animators, animation directors, or even project managers as they gain experience. Advancement is typically based on portfolio quality, reliability, and the ability to manage larger parts of the creative process. Many studios encourage skill development through mentorship, workshops, and on-the-job training. Networking and building a strong industry reputation are also important for moving into higher-level or specialized positions. Consistent, high-quality work can open opportunities to work on major projects or lead creative teams.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Concorde Education is seeking independent instructional contractors to provide Anime Club enrichment services for K–12 students.

• Facilitate respectful discussions about themes, characters, artistic techniques, genres, and cultural influences represented in age-appropriate media;
• Support students in creating fan art, character designs, creative writing projects, presentations, club activities, or other final projects, where applicable;
• Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and age-appropriate learning environment;
• Communicate assignment-related needs or significant concerns with Concorde and school staff, as appropriate;
• Complete a brief session completion form after each scheduled session; and

Specific content, media selections, software platforms, and curriculum requirements vary by assignment.
All content utilized must be age-appropriate, school-appropriate, and consistent with site requirements and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 60 college credits, where required by the applicable assignment or site;
• Familiarity with anime, animation, visual storytelling, media studies, pop culture, creative writing, art, or related subject areas;
• Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, or leading activities with school-age students;
• Strong communication, organization, discussion facilitation, and classroom management skills;

Assignments may utilize school-approved media clips, discussion guides, curriculum resources, lesson plans, project materials, presentation tools, Chromebooks, and other school-provided technology.
Contractors may use their own instructional methods and materials when appropriate, safe, age-appropriate, lawful, and consistent with the assignment scope and site requirements.
Purchases requiring reimbursement must be approved in writing by Concorde before they are incurred.
COMPENSATION
Compensation varies by assignment and agreed contractor terms. Many opportunities pay $50+ per completed instructional service hour with students.
Contractors may propose their desired compensation rate when applying. When proposing a rate, contractors should consider the overall assignment scope, including anticipated preparation, planning, commute, materials, schedule, and other business considerations.
Concorde may accept the proposed rate, decline the application, or provide a counteroffer based on the budget for the specific assignment.
Unless otherwise approved in writing, compensation is based on completed instructional service hours with students.
Payment for completed services is generally made by direct deposit on the fifteenth day of the month following the month in which services were completed, unless otherwise stated in the accepted assignment terms or required by applicable law.
APPLICATION AND ONBOARDING
Applicants selected to move forward may be invited to create a contractor profile and complete any required onboarding steps.
Applying, interviewing, receiving an invitation to create a profile, creating a profile, or completing onboarding does not guarantee selection, placement, or future assignment opportunities.
Potential assignments are subject to assignment fit, agreed compensation, completion of required onboarding, applicable background-check review, Fair Chance or pre-adverse action procedures where required, site-specific clearance requirements, and final written confirmation from Concorde Education.
Some assignments may require background-check authorization, fingerprinting, agency clearance, site-specific documentation, identification badges, or other compliance steps before services may begin.
Applicants should not provide criminal-history information unless and until requested through the appropriate legally compliant process.
