Job description

The successful candidate must be able to:
  • Partner with SMEs, technical developers, 3rd party vendors, support teams and other stakeholders to create and maintain high-quality documentation.
  • Effectively communicate (both verbal and written) at all levels of the organization.
  • Conduct research and interviews to gather information for documentation and act as a liaison for Information Technology to discuss the flow of information and application of policies to Standard Operating Guidelines.
  • Practical experience in the design, development, and delivery of technical documentation on major development programs.
  • Review and/or edit content developed by other members of the team.
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Participate in source code walk-throughs to capture, understand, use, and improve comments inserted into code to improve software documentation.
  • Develop and write instructions, policy, procedure documents and marketing materials in a timely manner (including manuals and bulletins)
  • Use disparate media outlets to distribute content (blogs, Stack Overflow, etc.)
  • Maintain and ensure consistency across all documentation platforms.
  • Participate in a highly technical Agile Delivery Team to bring new services and updates to market quickly.
  • Research, create, and maintain documentation style templates and establish organizational standards.
  • Create documentation and other content, by interviewing staff members and translating it into a clear and understandable instruction set.
  • Thrive amid ambiguity to successfully collaborate across various technology disciplines to drive enterprise outcomes.
  • Maintenance of internal documentation library, providing and/or coordinating special documentation services as required, and oversight of special projects.
  • Work with the management team to update/maintain current manuals in the established writing style and templates
  • Help evangelize IT best practices and trends including TechOps, Automation, DevOps, etc.
  • Cleanup drafts of written communications or Powerpoint presentations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

The qualifications include:
  • 4 or more years of experience in technology, 2 - 4 years of technical writing experience.
  • Able to understand the logic of code and to construct simple data queries
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, teaming, written communication, and listening skills, with ability to present complex information with simplicity.
  • Technical background in IT (software development, infrastructure support, etc.) preferred.
  • Advanced business and data analysis, business process and application knowledge
  • Internal documentation, general API documentation, JSON Documentation, YAML files, error codes, etc.
  • Proficient in knowledge of technical writing, business applications
  • Fluency with Agile Delivery, specifically the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFE).
  • Innovation skills and vision. Possesses and can further cultivate diversity of thought.
  • Ability to process new concepts and technologies quickly, has an appetite for learning.
  • Ability to multi-task and flex when priorities change.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to review/write documentation for key content
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must be a self-starter, give accurate time estimates and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technical Communication, Information Systems, English, Computer Science, Communications or related field/experience a plus.
  • Experience with international business partners (Japan) a plus.
