This position is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of injection molding presses, material handling equipment, and parts handling equipment to efficiently produce a quality product, and will also provide training assistance as needed.
1. In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
2. Monitor machine and the product being produced for potential problems or defects, ensuring product is manufactured according to company procedures and specifications.
3. Set up molds in presses, including plumbing waterlines, hydraulic cam actions, and core sequencing.
4. Set up and program robots for parts handling.
5. Set, control, and confirm process parameters.
6. Set up material drying and conveying equipment.
7. Maintain adequate raw material supply to machines in order to maintain uninterrupted production cycles.
8. Answer machine alarms and troubleshoot problems.
9. Properly package plastic components.
10. Maintain proper documentation in accordance with department and Company policies.
11. Instruct and train new operators on a continuing basis as required.
12. Maintain production area is a clean and orderly manner.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
The position exists in a production environment. Requires gowning procedures for controlled environment. May require the use of eye protection, hand protection, and, depending on noise level, may require hearing protection. May at times involve exposure to chemicals requiring the use of additional personal protective equipment.
Visual acuity in compliance with site specific Visual Acuity Program. Majority of workday is spent either standing or walking with frequent stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, etc. Typically includes occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. and works with heavy molds requiring crane assistance. This position is not eligible for remote work. This may change based on job responsibilities, project/business needs and/or Associate job performance. In all cases Associates may need to have on-site presence for designated meetings and compliance related activities.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years of production maintenance experience. Two-year college degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or electrical discipline preferred. Basic computer software skills, i.e. Microsoft Office.
The annualized base salary range for this role is $21.86 to $24.09. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
