Job description

We are currently seeking a Janitorial Lead to help oversee daily cleaning operations by working alongside and supporting janitorial team members. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to maintain high cleaning standards. The Janitorial Lead ensures that assigned tasks are completed efficiently and according to company and customer expectations while serving as the main point of contact for the crew during their shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
  • Provide direction, guidance, and motivation to janitorial staff throughout the shift.
  • Assign tasks and ensure they are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with minor staff concerns and notify the supervisor of any major issues.
Operational Support:
  • Ensure all cleaning duties are carried out according to scope of work and company procedures.
  • Coordinate with supervisors or site contacts on special requests or adjustments.
Work Quality & Oversight:
  • Monitor the quality of work and maintain cleanliness standards across all areas.
  • Track attendance and ensure team members are following shift schedules.
  • Report performance concerns or recurring issues to management.
Problem Solving:
  • Address immediate operational issues such as supply needs or minor equipment problems.
  • Respond professionally to customer or facility staff feedback and relay concerns to supervisors when needed.
Training & Guidance:
  • Support onboarding and on-the-job training for new employees.
  • Reinforce safety protocols and company cleaning procedures among staff.
Reporting & Communication:
  • Complete shift checklists, supply usage logs, and other required documentation.
  • Keep management informed of shift progress, staffing concerns, or equipment issues.
Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, cleaning products, and equipment.
  • Promote and enforce safety guidelines in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Prior janitorial or cleaning experience required; leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in basic computer tasks; Microsoft Office knowledge (Excel, Word, Outlook) is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
