Jains observe strict ethical principles and often practice vegetarianism as part of their commitment to non-violence. The religion was established by a series of spiritual teachers known as Tirthankaras, with Mahavira being the most recent and well-known. Jain communities can primarily be found in India, though there are followers worldwide.
