Familiarity with correctional health protocols, electronic medical records (EMRs), and infection control procedures is essential. Strong judgment, crisis management, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for working with incarcerated populations and multidisciplinary teams. These competencies are vital to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and compliance with legal and ethical standards in the unique correctional healthcare setting.
