POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Clinical Director, the Criminal Justice Program Coordinator oversees the development, implementation, and coordination of programs that support justice-involved individuals and their families across Northeast Ohio. This role leads initiatives aimed at reducing recidivism and promoting successful reintegration, while serving as a key liaison among courts, law enforcement, treatment providers, and community partners to ensure effective, compliant program delivery and strong participant outcomes. The Coordinator delivers client-centered services to a diverse population, demonstrating cultural responsiveness, professionalism, and a clear commitment to improving long-term outcomes for individuals and families impacted by the criminal justice system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, and oversee trauma-informed, evidence-based programs that support justice-involved individuals and their families to reduce recidivism and support successful reentry and recovery.
· Conduct outreach and build partnerships with local courts, jails, and detention facilities to engage participants, support continuity of care, and expand program reach.
· Deliver direct services to participants, as needed, including therapeutic behavioral support (TBS) and skill-building interventions that promote stability and success in home, school, work, and community settings.
· Plan and facilitate group sessions, workshops, and educational programming on appropriate topics such as trauma, life skills, financial literacy, employment readiness, and conflict resolution.
· Serve as a liaison between courts, law enforcement, corrections, community providers, employers, and educational institutions to strengthen coordinated care and expand participant opportunities.
· Lead and facilitate multidisciplinary team meetings and community collaboratives (e.g., Citizen Circle, Reentry Coalition, Housing Task Force) to improve communication, alignment, and service delivery across systems.
· Support grant development and program sustainability by assisting with research, application development, implementation, and compliance with funding requirements.
· Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including courts, jails, and community partners, to support program goals and participant success.
· Provide supervision, guidance, and professional development support to program staff, including training, performance feedback, and oversight of service delivery as appropriate.
· Monitor program performance and participant progress, using data to evaluate outcomes and inform continuous quality improvement.
· Promote program awareness through outreach activities, community events, and stakeholder engagement.
· Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the CareLogic electronic health record system.
· Collect, track, and analyze participant and program data to meet reporting requirements and ensure compliance with grant and regulatory standards.
· Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations and organizational priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required education, experience, training
· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Healthcare Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
· Demonstrated ability to assess individual needs, identify barriers to success, and develop appropriate, individualized service approaches.
· Working knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders, including the ability to recognize common signs and symptoms.
· Knowledge of community resources and best practices in counseling, case management, and service coordination for high-risk or justice-involved populations.
· Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of community partners, including behavioral health providers, social service agencies, and criminal justice entities.
· Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with incarcerated individuals, justice-involved participants, and correctional staff.
· Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals from varied cultural, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds, as well as community stakeholders and public officials.
· Proficiency in basic computer applications, including electronic health records (EHR), word processing, email, and internet-based systems.
· Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multiple settings.
Preferred education, experience, training
· M.ED., MSW, or similar advanced healthcare degree preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL
Work Environment: This position operates across a variety of settings, including courts, jails, detention facilities, community partner sites, and office environments throughout Northeast Ohio. The role requires regular interaction within criminal justice settings, including collaboration with court personnel, law enforcement, correctional staff, treatment providers, and community-based organizations. Work is performed in both structured office environments and field-based settings, with frequent movement between locations to support program coordination and participant engagement. The position routinely utilizes standard office equipment and technology, including computers, phones, electronic health record systems, and virtual communication platforms.
Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, use hands to operate office equipment, and communicate effectively in person and via electronic means. Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds may be required.
Sensory Requirements: Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Requires visual acuity to read and interpret documents, data, and computer screens.
Schedule and Hours: This is a full-time, exempt position. The position is expected to work a standard workweek, with occasional evening or weekend hours to attend meetings, events, or respond to urgent organizational needs.
Travel: This position requires regular local travel to provide services to justice-involved individuals in a variety of settings, including the court, community locations, partner agencies, and, when appropriate, clients’ homes. Travel may also be required to attend meetings with court personnel, service providers, and community partners. Occasional regional travel may be necessary for training or professional development.
The employee must possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license, meet insurability requirements in accordance with the organization’s vehicle use policy, maintain appropriate auto insurance coverage, and have reliable access to a vehicle.
