Position Summary
As part of the continued expansion of the Jackson Health System, the Jackson Medical Group, a growing multi-specialty physician network of over 40 physicians who practice throughout Miami-Dade County at over 7 different specialty care centers seek to hire a General Surgeon to support our growth at Jackson South Community Hospital. We provide care and support to patients and families at every step of the journey, from routine care to complex surgeries and follow up care. We offer cutting edge care and provide a supportive team environment for our physicians ensuring the best care to our patients.
Responsible for the planning, diagnostic development, management and evaluation of medical/services at the clinic/center of responsibility.
  • Provides and maintains JHS Standards towards continuous, intensive direct medical diagnosis, consultation, and health care services to JHS outpatients.
  • Practice- average volume 1-2x weekly in office plus call (min 7 days per month). Surgery 3x weekly.
  • General surgery patients.

Education
Doctorate degree in Medicine is required.
Experience
Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
License/Certification
  • Valid Florida Medical License.
  • DEA and board certification or eligible in General Surgery are required. Other specialty certifications related to specialty are a plus.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) (ACLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
