Job description

Service Compliance Technician


R.W Mercer Co. is a family-owned construction and service company headquartered in Jackson, Michigan, with seven locations – six in Michigan and one in Indiana. The company operates in distinct areas of construction: petroleum contracting and service, general contracting, and electrical. In each area, R.W. Mercer provides a turn-key approach that includes planning, design, construction, and installation as well as service, monitoring, and maintenance.


The Service Compliance Technician will perform all inspections/testing required by the state to ensure all fueling and monitoring equipment at our client sites is operating properly and that all containment sumps are watertight. We provide paid training, a company vehicle, computer tablet and cell phone along with a competitive benefits package and the opportunity for career growth and development.


REQUIEMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all company safety practices and procedures according to applicable federal, state, and local codes, regulations, and requirements.
  • Travel to client fueling sites.
  • Utilize various testing devices, multiple hand and power tools related to the job. Maintain tools and equipment to ensure all are in proper and safe working order.
  • Complete assigned compliance testing and submit all paperwork/forms in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with all customers, fellow employees, and inspectors in a professional manner.
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of company vehicles, supplies, equipment, and inventory.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.
  • Must Have a valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
  • Familiarity with operating a computer and an aptitude for learning computer skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be able and willing to travel and stay out of town.
  • Must be able and willing to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
