SUMMARY:
The Senior Symitar Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of applications and automation within the Symitar core banking system. This role designs and develops advanced applications within the Jack Henry Symitar core platform using PowerOn while also supporting automation, digital integrations, and member-facing technologies.
The position plays a key role in modernizing credit union operations through automation and integration by leveraging technologies including Jack Henry Xperience, Jack Henry Workflow scripting, SymXchange and Symitar APIs.
This role partners with business leaders across all departments to develop scalable technical solutions that enhance operational efficiency and member service delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Core System Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced PowerOn programs and automation scripts.
  • Develop custom solutions within the Symitar core including:
    • Member service tools
    • Lending automation
    • Teller enhancements
    • Batch processing jobs
    • Data integrations and extracts
  • Optimize existing PowerOn code for performance and scalability.

Digital Experience & Platform Development
Develop and maintain integrations and experiences using:
  • Jack Henry Xperience
    • Configure user experiences and system interactions
    • Develop interfaces that improve internal and member-facing services
  • Jack Henry Workflow
    • Design automated operational workflows
    • Automate business processes to improve operational efficiency

Integration Development
Design and support integrations between the core system and enterprise platforms including (but not limited to):
  • Digital banking platforms
  • Loan origination systems
  • Payment and card processing systems

Develop integrations using Symitar APIs and SymXchange
Data & Reporting Development
  • Develop operational and management reports using RepGen and SQL.
  • Build data extracts supporting analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Support reporting automation and data integration with platforms such as Power BI.

Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner with business units to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership for core system enhancements.
  • Mentor junior developers and analysts.
  • Participate in enterprise technology initiatives and system modernization efforts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years supporting Symitar core system.
  • 5+ years PowerOn development experience
  • Experience with RepGen report development
  • Experience supporting financial institution systems.
