The Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Cloud Software Engineer to support a fully funded mission-critical program. You will architect, implement, and debug complex distributed computing solutions within a Big Data cloud environment. This role involves developing high-performance microservices, managing multi-node installations, and ensuring robust information assurance for national security dataflows. You will work across the full stack, from front-end visualization to back-end analytics and automated infrastructure deployment.
What You'll Bring
BS in CS (or related) + 12 years of software engineering experience, including 4 years in Big Data/Cloud (experience can substitute degrees).
Cloud/Big Data: Proficiency in Hadoop, MapReduce, HDFS, HBase, Zookeeper, and Cloud Big Table. Cloudera certification is a plus.
Software Development: Strong Java (Object Oriented Design), Python, and CNO experience. Familiarity with Rust for secure/high-performance code is highly valued.
Full-Stack & Microservices: Experience with React/JSX, Node.js, Kubernetes, Helm Charts, and service-mesh architectures.
Analytics & Data: Experience with Information Retrieval (Solr, Lucene, Elasticsearch) and ingesting disparate formats (JSON, XML, Avro).
Environment: Proficiency in Linux/CentOS, Bash scripting, and automated configuration management (Ansible, Terraform, or Salt).
