Job Description

The Derivatives Trading group at Morgan Stanley Investment Management seeks a Java Developer with hands‑on Calypso OTC Trading Platform expertise. The role involves platform development, enhancement, and integration with upstream/downstream systems. Current platform version: Calypso v16.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance the Calypso platform and its integration with internal systems
  • Work with business stakeholders including traders, trade support, and operations
  • Translate technical designs into scalable, maintainable code
  • Participate in Calypso version upgrades and platform customization
  • Provide production support as needed
Required Skills
  • 8+ years of total experience; 5+ years hands‑on Calypso development
  • Expertise in Calypso upgrades and customization (v16 experience preferred)
  • Strong Core Java and Java EE development background
  • Proficiency in Spring Framework
  • Solid SQL and database design skills
  • Familiarity with Unix and shell/perl/python scripting
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Git, Perforce, or other source code management tools
  • Exposure to DevOps tools like Jenkins, Sonar, Jira
  • Familiarity with financial tech protocols such as FpML, SWIFT
