JOB DESCRIPTION:
SUMMARY
The Andersen Enterprise Technology & Data Organization is seeking an experienced Senior IT CMDB Administrator to lead the technical configuration, daily operations, and data integrity of the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role is responsible for ensuring the CMDB accurately represents the organization's IT infrastructure-hardware, software, services, and their interdependencies.
This position will own the end-to-end lifecycle of Configuration Items (CIs), maintain the CMDB as the authoritative Single Source of Truth, and drive automation, discovery, and alignment with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM). The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a governance mindset, and the ability to collaborate across IT functions to enable effective Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Data Governance & Accuracy: Establish and enforce CMDB policies, standards, and data quality rules ensuring CMDB records are complete, correct, and compliant.
  • Discovery & Integration: Configure and maintain automated discovery tools (e.g., ServiceNow Discovery, MID Servers) and manage integrations with systems such as SCCM to maintain real-time inventory.
  • CI Lifecycle Management: Oversee the creation, modification, and retirement of CIs while validating CI relationships and dependencies.
  • Auditing & Reconciliation: Perform routine audits to identify discrepancies between the CMDB and the actual environment; manage reconciliation rules to eliminate duplicates and incorrect records.
  • Reporting & Health Monitoring: Maintain and improve CMDB health dashboards, monitoring key metrics such as staleness, completeness, orphan CIs, and discovery coverage.
  • Process Alignment: Partner closely with Incident, Change, and Problem Management teams to support impact analysis, risk assessments, and root cause investigations.
  • CSDM Alignment: Lead initiatives that ensure CMDB data structures align with the CSDM framework to strengthen service mapping and business capability modeling.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with CMDB platforms such as ServiceNow (preferred), BMC Helix/Atrium, or Ivanti.
  • Framework Knowledge: Strong understanding of ITIL v4 Service Asset & Configuration Management principles and the CSDM 4.0 (or later) data model.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • ITIL Foundation
    • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
    • Certified Implementation Specialist - Discovery (CIS-DISCO)

Technical Proficiencies
  • Scripting knowledge in JavaScript, PowerShell, or Python for automation workflows.
  • Understanding of CMDB table structures, especially cmdb_ci and related relationship tables.
  • Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (IP, ports, firewalls) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Experience configuring ServiceNow Discovery, MID Servers, and Service Mapping.
  • Hands-on experience with IntegrationHub ETL or other data ingestion/normalization tools.
  • Proficiency in SQL for advanced data querying and validation.
  • Experience designing and running Data Certification workflows to ensure ongoing data accuracy.
  • Ability to translate business workflows into accurate technical dependency and relationship maps.

PAY RANGE:
$101,176.00 - $156,824.00

PROFIT SHARING: In 2026 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit Sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
