Job description

Solon Family Dentists is seeking a full-time or part-time dental hygienist who is highly skilled, friendly, self-motivated, and passionate about providing high-quality care to patients. We allot ample appointment times, provide scrubs and have instruments professionally sharpened.


Responsibilities

  • Update patient health histories and record blood pressure readings
  • Maintain and update dental charts to reflect current patient conditions
  • Obtain and review radiographs, intraoral images, and Itero scans as needed
  • Screen periodontal health, including probe depths, recession, and mobility; document and communicate findings
  • Assess caries risk and recommend preventive care measures
  • Conduct oral cancer screenings
  • Identify potential dental issues such as failing restorations, decay, or open contacts
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and the effects of malocclusion on dental health
  • Provide dental prophylaxis and periodontal treatments
  • Apply fluoride treatments and place dental sealants
  • Collaborate with the dental team to develop personalized treatment plans
  • Schedule future continuing care appointments for patients
  • Assist with cleanup and setup of treatment rooms when available
  • Support other practice areas as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Ohio Dental Hygiene License
  • Current CPR certification
  • Proficiency with digital radiography and periodontal screening
  • Excellent patient communication skills
  • Familiarity with Dentrix software and iTero scanner
  • Strong oral health education and time management abilities
