As our new General Manager (GM), Italy, you will bring your excellent ability to lead an extremely ambitious commercial agenda as well as a growing organisation.

The GM will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the LEGO business across our Italian Market. As GM, you will continue to build the brand to the next level of desire & meaningfulness, focus on driving growth in the segments that have not yet reached their full commercial potential and therefore growing the business steadily & strongly (likely by double digits in the next business cycle). You will also own the further strengthening of our branded channel, e-commerce business, growing our penetration in the "Preschool", "girls" and "adults" segments.To achieve all this, the future GM will need to put special emphasis on growth mindset, change agility, systems, processes, and ways of working to enable the Italianmarket to reach further potential.
The GM will lead a dedicated and growing team of around 60 commercial colleagues, located in Milan. The role also sits as part of our Western Europe Market Group leadership team.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Driving the further growth of our Italian business by catering to the demands of end consumers and shoppers as well as customers across all channels (branded channels, toy specialist retailers, hypermarkets, drug stores, online retailers, distributors etc.) in an environment that is rapidly changing and highly competitive.

  • Translating global strategy into Italian-specific sales and marketing tangible results. Putting a strong focus on leading the operational business - and especially, developing existing and new customer relationships.

  • Own the financial target achievement setting (sales, cost and profit) in the Italian business unit. Driving a steady growth agenda whilst ensuring unerring focus on profitability and credit risk.

  • Leading the digitalization of the consumer journey and the growth of e-commerce across the business unit.

  • The Italian BU also includes full responsibility for our branded channels business ie. LEGO certified stores for the South of Europe (Italy, France, Spain & Portugal).

  • You will be managing our strategic partner "Percassi" for this geography, as well as working closely with our internal LEGO.com & LEGO Retail team

Do you have what it takes?

The ideal candidate will bring a successful track record of driving commercial success as a GM (or similar) with P&L responsibility ideally from a branded consumer products, fashion, or lifestyle business or a growing consumer-focused e-Commerce environment.

We are also looking for the following:

  • Ambitious with a strong growth mindset and proven track record of delivering results.

  • Proven experience building and developing client relationships with distributors, specialist retailers, and pure e-commerce players.

  • Demonstrated track record in driving digital transformation, developing an effective e-Commerce strategy and integrating e-Commerce/digital into a multi-channel strategy. Digital savviness and deep understanding of the digital societal transformation of consumers, shoppers and customers is expected.

  • Preferably worked with European markets and brings international experience and mentality.

  • Proficiency in English and Italian is required; knowledge of other foreign languages will be a plus.

  • Results oriented with high ambition for the team.

  • Depth of leadership, with consistent experience in building high-performing teams in a B2B and B2C environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to challenge status quo and lead change in an engaging way.
