Job description

General Summary

This position is responsible for participating in all warehousing related activities to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all necessary materials, supplies, and equipment to installation job sites.

Essential Job Functions

Receiving and putting away:

  1. Receive and unload trucks, containers, trailers or any other vehicle delivering material to the warehouse into receiving inspection area.
  2. Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, packing list, or orders to verify accuracy of contents, identify any discrepancy and notify to leader or warehouse manager. Write quantity, shade, and dye lots on receiving documents. Give to Inventory Coordinator to assign location to put material away.
  3. Label material and put away in designated locations after inspection of material and disposition in JDE completed by Inventory Coordinator. Return paperwork to office.

Material picking process:

  1. Pull and job pack orders according to JDE pick ticket, must verify perfect match between physical material picked and JDE pick ticket material descriptions, item numbers and shades. Report any discrepancies to Production Coordinator. Changes must be written on all copies of pick tickets and initialed.
  2. Write on pick ticket information regarding the amount of pallets cartons/pcs on the order and organize material on pallets.
  3. Stage material in the packing area, paperwork for order must remain with material.

Packaging and dispatch:

  1. Perform a visual inspection of materials on the pick ticket. Validate item number, description, shade, and color. Sign after validated.
  2. Create packaging for the material according to size, type and label material with order information. Weigh material, add weight to the order, and stage in shipping area.
  3. Prepare the manifest for shipping. Give to Production Coordinator after completion with copies of pick tickets.

Other warehousing activities:

  1. Ensure adherence to all warehouse standards including operating and using fork lifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other tools and equipment to OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
  2. Log daily forklift sheets.
  3. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  4. Communicate effectively, use independent judgement to make decisions.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse area.
  6. Other logistics, warehousing, and/or administrative duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Knowledge of materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods.

· Ability to work with power tools (Table saw, wet saw, reciprocating saw, etc.).

· Reliable, responsible, dependable, and able to fulfill obligations.

· Detail-oriented, careful, and thorough in completing work tasks.

· Ability to follow directions.

· Ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency.

Education and Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Prior flooring industry experience desired.

· Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

· OSHA forklift certified.

Other Requirements

· This role would require the ability to lift, push, and/or pull loads in excess of 50 lb.

· This role requires use of hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.

· Time spend standing in position is continual or almost continual.

· Fundamental mathematical comprehension required.

· Travel required - negligible.
