Our goal is to emphasize quality of service while providing clients with complete managed services, networking design/support, LAN/WAN multi-office setups, computer service/support, modern technology integration, internet capabilities and more.
Job Description
Vicinitech is seeking a responsible, energetic, self-motivated individual with an entrepreneurial attitude capable of supporting Windows based networks in corporate small to medium sized business environments.
Qualifications
Individual Expectations:
• Must possess strong analytical and technical skills, task management and follow-thru experience, helpdesk ticketing system, detailed weekly time reporting, entrepreneurial attitude/personality and rapid understanding of new hardware/software when exposed to them.
• Must maintain excellent verbal and written skills as candidate will be working with various clients' onsite and remote thru phone and email. Your professionalism, outgoing personality and attention to detail play a major role in client satisfaction and retention.
• Demonstrated competency working remote to maintain, monitor and troubleshoot systems both during and after work hours.
Technical Skills Qualifications:
• Exposed to administration of current Windows Server versions; Office 365; MS Teams; MS Azure; AWS, some exposure with Citrix XenApp/Xendesktop, VDI or RDS Services a plus.
• Understanding of networks, group policy, switches, firewalls and routers. (WatchGuard, Sonicwall or Sophos are preferred).
• Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting of all types of PC and related IT equipment with resolution.
• A plus if you have good understanding and skills related to all parts of data security, intrusion detection, level 1 data recovery and containment of volatile outbreaks of virus/spyware/malware.
Education Requirements: Technical 4-year degree preferred but not mandatory. Full or partial; current MCITP, MCTS, MCSE, MCSA credentials preferred. Citrix CCEA/CCIA preferred. An ongoing desire for further education.
Years of Experience: 3-5 Years of current networking, consulting, PC and general IT experience with room to grow to Sr. Engineer, project/helpdesk management and beyond.
Expected Travel Requirements: Approximately 30% local travel to client sites predominately in the northern IL suburbs of Lake, Cook and McHenry counties with coverage also in Wisconsin, Chicago Loop & surrounding metro areas. Must have reliable transportation.
Additional Information
Salary/Hours: Competitive compensation with benefits and bonus based on performance. 30% after-hours and weekends scheduled as required.
