Job description

Summary
Works with the Information Technology department to provide assistance and support
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist users with general how-to questions (typically Microsoft Office applications, printers, Internet Explorer).
  • Install/update various applications on workstations and laptops.
  • Test/troubleshoot problems reported by users, research issues, find solutions and implement fixes.
  • Assist IT staff with maintaining hardware, network, and servers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience
  • Completion of freshman year toward a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or similar field.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical skills
  • Ability to calculate simple figures and amounts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer skills
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

The employee must regularly lift and move 25 pounds, frequently lift and move 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds. Team lifting or finding a mechanical advantage when possible is preferred when lifting over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
