The ideal candidate has broad infrastructure experience and can independently resolve technical issues while working closely with senior IT staff, service desk personnel, vendors, and employees across multiple locations.

This is a remote position; however, we will prefer candidates located in Florida due to occasional travel to company offices and project sites.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, print services, and user permissions.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, user accounts, and security settings.
  • Create, modify, and disable user accounts, groups, mailboxes, licenses, and system access.
  • Support virtual server environments and assist with virtual machine provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor the health, availability, capacity, and performance of servers, networks, cloud services, and other infrastructure.
  • Perform system patching, software updates, firmware updates, and routine infrastructure maintenance.
  • Administer backup systems, monitor backup jobs, investigate failures, and perform file or system restores when required.
  • Support firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VPN/SASE connectivity, internet circuits, and site-to-site connections.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, network, authentication, and connectivity issues escalated by the service desk.
  • Support remote offices and employees throughout the company.
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 migrations, tenant consolidation, server deployments, office integrations, and other infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, configuration records, inventories, procedures, and knowledge-base articles.
  • Assist with endpoint management, mobile device management, security tools, and remote monitoring platforms.
  • Review system alerts and logs and respond to potential availability, performance, or security issues.
  • Follow company change management, access-control, cybersecurity, and documentation standards.
  • Coordinate with technology vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and perform occasional after-hours maintenance when required.
  • Perform other technology-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in systems administration, network administration, or a similar infrastructure support role.
  • Practical experience administering Windows Server and Active Directory.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, wireless networking, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Experience supporting backup, endpoint protection, remote access, and system-monitoring solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues methodically and independently.
  • Strong documentation, organization, communication, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
  • Ability to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and nontechnical employees.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally to company locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft role-based certifications, CCNA, ITIL, or equivalent are preferred but not required. Relevant hands-on experience may be considered in place of formal certifications.
  • Experience with Fortinet firewalls, FortiSASE, VMware, Veeam, MaaS360, or comparable platforms is a plus.
  • Experience supporting hybrid Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID environments.
  • Experience with PowerShell or other administrative scripting tools.
  • Experience supporting IT operations within a company that has multiple offices or recently acquired organizations.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, access controls, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements.

Working Conditions

  • This position may be performed remotely or from one of our Florida offices. Occasional travel to company locations may be required for system deployments, maintenance, troubleshooting, and project work.
  • Occasional travel and after-hours work may be necessary for deployments, maintenance, or emergency support.
  • Must be able to lift and move computers and network equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
