This Durham, NC-based role executes strategic purchasing to support the successful delivery of indirect goods and services across all Bioventus locations.
Strong preference for IT/Software sourcing and contracting expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include developing and adopting strategy, defining requirements, negotiating costs, selecting vendors, reviewing contracts, and building strong relationships with external suppliers and internal business partners.

  • Execute and support all purchasing policies and procedures. Meet routinely with internal business partners to maintain best-in-class purchasing category strategies that drive performance in cost, quality & delivery.

  • Maintain deep, current knowledge of assigned purchasing categories. In cooperation with internal business partners, develop and maintain supplier key performance indicators.

  • Lead a standardized sourcing, supplier approval, and contracting process across assigned categories, negotiating the most favorable terms and conditions based on total cost of ownership.

  • Serve as a company contact for all procurement-related questions on policy, process, training, and support. Proactively and effectively address and resolve issues as they are presented.

  • Holds oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus' Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies and procedures, and internal controls applicable to their role.

  • Up to 20%-25% travel for vendor site visits.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5+ years of experience in an indirect procurement role. CPM certification preferred.

  • Strong SAP experience.

  • IT/Software sourcing and contracting experience preferred.

  • Strong PC application skills with various software packages (Microsoft Office Suite: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Good analytical and negotiating skills. Demonstrated ability to work dynamically in a fast-paced environment, building strong partnerships and driving sustainable results.
