MA Design is hiring an IT Manager to join our IT team in our Columbus office. In this role, you will be responsible for for the daily operation, support, security, and administration of the firm's technology environment. This role reports to our Director of IT and serves as the primary technical resource for employees and is responsible for infrastructure management, cybersecurity administration, end-user support, vendor coordination, and implementation of technology initiatives. 


Responsibilities:


Desktop / User Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee technology support.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, mobile device, and application issues.
  • Support conference room technology and hybrid meeting systems.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding technology activities.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service while responding to support requests.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technical issues beyond routine helpdesk support.
  • Provide troubleshooting and resolution for workstation, mobile device, application, network, and infrastructure issues.
  • Support conference room technology, collaboration tools, and presentation systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical standards, procedures, and support documentation.

Networking

  • Administer and maintain the firm's Google Workspace / Microsoft cloud and on-premises environments, servers, storage systems, and related services.
  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure including switches, wireless systems, firewalls, VPN connectivity, and internet services.
  • Work with vendors to design and maintain virtual machines.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, security groups, and identity management systems.
  • Ensure system availability, performance, reliability, and business continuity through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
  • Maintain backup and disaster recovery systems and participate in recovery testing.

Cybersecurity and Risk Management

  • Assist in administering and monitoring cybersecurity tools and services, including endpoint protection, email security, multifactor authentication, and threat monitoring solutions.
  • Support implementation of security policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Participate in incident response activities, vulnerability remediation, and security awareness initiatives.
  • Monitor security risks and recommend improvements to strengthen the firm's security posture.
  • Assist with compliance, audits, and technology risk assessments as required.

Hardware / Software Management

  • Oversee lifecycle management of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other technology assets.
  • Maintain hardware and software inventories, licensing records, and warranty information, including Autodesk, Deltek, Bluebeam, Adobe, and AI tools.
  • Coordinate procurement, deployment, replacement, and disposal of technology equipment.
  • Evaluate new technologies and software solutions to improve operational efficiency and user experience.

Vendor and Project Management

  • Coordinate with external IT vendors, consultants, software providers, and managed service partners.
  • Assist the IT Director with technology planning, budgeting, and vendor evaluation.
  • Lead or participate in technology projects, including upgrades, migrations, security initiatives, and system implementations.
  • Maintain project documentation, system diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and aligned with business objectives.

Business Technology Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows through automation, reporting, collaboration tools, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with departments to understand business needs and recommend effective technology solutions.
  • Contribute recommendations for infrastructure modernization and operational improvements.
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance and support activities when necessary.

Other

  • Assist with office moves, equipment installations, and technology-related facilities projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principals or IT Director.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive IT experience supporting infrastructure, systems administration, networking, or cybersecurity.
  • Experience administering Microsoft and Azure environments.
  • Experience managing technology vendors and participating in technology projects.
  • Experience in architecture, engineering, professional services, or multi-office environments and experience supporting Autodesk, Adobe Creative Cloud, Bluebeam, and related design technologies is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure, Active Directory, Windows Server, and endpoint management platforms.
  • Experience administering networking technologies including firewalls, switches, wireless systems, and VPNs.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, security tools, and incident response procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple technology platforms.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
