Perma-Pipe is looking for an experienced IT Manager – USA

The IT Manager – USA is responsible for leading IT operations, systems, and projects across U.S. locations.

This role drives alignment between technology and business objectives, ensuring high system performance, cybersecurity compliance, and successful delivery of enterprise initiatives. The position oversees infrastructure, applications, service delivery, and IT personnel while supporting manufacturing and business operations.

The role is situated in the United States in either Lebanon, TN or The Woodlands, TX.

This is not a remote or hybrid office position.

Essential Job Functions

IT Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead IT operations across multiple U.S. sites, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Partner with global IT leadership to develop and implement standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Drive simplification, standardization, and innovation across IT systems and processes.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop IT staff to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Assist with IT budgeting, planning, and cost control initiatives.

Systems, Infrastructure & Operations

  • Oversee IT infrastructure including servers, networks, voice, and data center systems.
  • Ensure optimal system performance, uptime, and adherence to operational KPIs.
  • Manage telecom services including internet, mobile, and landline providers.
  • Oversee service desk operations and ensure timely resolution of IT issues.
  • Maintain and track IT assets, including hardware and software inventories.

Enterprise Applications & Business Systems

  • Lead implementation and ongoing support of ERP systems (Infor CSI Syteline preferred).
  • Manage business systems, databases, and reporting tools in coordination with global teams.
  • Support and enhance data analytics and reporting capabilities (e.g., Power BI).
  • Provide IT support for engineering systems (CAD and manufacturing environments).
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to optimize system functionality and workflows.

Cybersecurity, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity protocols and enterprise security standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, including SOX compliance requirements.
  • Enforce IT governance frameworks, policies, and risk management practices.
  • Maintain alignment with HSE, quality, and corporate compliance standards.

Project Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and manage IT projects, including ERP implementations and system upgrades.
  • Prioritize and execute initiatives that improve business efficiency and scalability.
  • Apply strong project management methodologies to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement across IT and business functions.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage vendor relationships for software, hardware, and IT services.
  • Coordinate purchasing and contract management for IT-related needs.
  • Act as a liaison between IT and business units to ensure effective communication.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 10+ years of IT operations management experience, including multi-site support.
  • Strong expertise in IT infrastructure (servers, networks, enterprise systems).
  • Experience with Microsoft M365 environment and enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
  • ERP system experience (Infor CSI Syteline strongly preferred).
  • Database knowledge (MSSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks (SOX, ITIL preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work setting including office and manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to industrial conditions such as machinery, noise, and temperature variations.
  • May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in production areas.
  • Travel up to 25% between U.S. and Canada locations.

Physical Requirements
