Job description

Jackbox Games is looking for a part-time IT & Operations Coordinator to join our team! Please note: this is a hybrid position that requires time in-office. We will only consider candidates located in Chicago, IL.
About Jackbox Games
Jackbox is the mid-sized game studio behind the popular Jackbox Party Pack franchise. We're known for releasing five new party games every fall; including Quiplash, Trivia Murder Party and very wholesome drawing games... your experience may vary. We've been featured on the Tonight Show, Polygon, Nintendo Direct, several chaotic streams, PAX Live events, a date between Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson (They still going strong?)...and the living rooms/finished basements/zoom calls of over 200 million users

About the role
We're looking for an organized, people-friendly coordinator to own the day-to-day IT operations that keep the studio running: accounts, access, equipment, licenses, and the help desk queue. This is an operations and administration role, not a deep technical one. You don't need to be a sysadmin, but you should be comfortable with technology and great at following things through to done. Think of it as a customer-service role for IT. When someone needs a license, a laptop, or a password reset, you're the person who makes sure it actually happens. When something unfamiliar breaks, you're the kind of person who can Google the problem, work through it to a resolution, and jot down what you learned for the next time.
What you'll do
  • Run the IT help desk: be the first point of contact, resolve routine requests yourself, escalate technical issues to engineering with clear context, and track everything to closure.
  • Manage accounts, access, and software licenses across the tools the studio runs on (Google Workspace, Slack, JumpCloud, Adobe, and others).
  • Handle the IT side of onboarding and offboarding for employees and contractors.Keep our hardware inventory accurate and coordinate equipment purchasing, shipping, repairs, and returns.
  • Stay ahead of software renewals and subscriptions so nothing lapses or auto-renews at a surprise price.
  • Keep documentation and checklists current so common requests get easier over time.
  • Pitch in on general administrative tasks as needed - the odds and ends that keep a small studio running.
Required skills
  • Reliable transportation to our Chicago office. This role handles physical equipment, so regular on-site presence is required.
  • Strong organization and follow-through. You own tasks from start to finish and nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Comfort with technology. You can navigate admin dashboards, follow technical documentation, and pick up new tools quickly.
  • Clear, friendly communication. Most of this job is helping colleagues who are varying degrees of stressed about a thing that isn't working.
  • Experience administering Google Workspace, Slack, or similar tools.
  • Prior help desk, IT support, office management, or operations coordination experience.

We value kind, motivated, and creative people. Jackbox Games is a group effort and you must work collaboratively. Everyone here is committed to excellence and desires to work in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere.
Schedule, pay, and benefits
  • Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, generally spread across weekdays. We care about coverage and clear availability, not rigid shifts. We can work out a schedule that fits you.
  • $25-35 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Paid time off
  • 401K with company match
How to apply
Send us a resume and a short note about why this role sounds like your kind of thing. No cover-letter theater required.
We know it is a time commitment to prepare an application and we respect that effort by thoughtfully reviewing every complete application and responding one way or the other. But that kind of thoughtful review means that it sometimes takes us a while to get back to applicants, so please be patient with us and no phone calls.
Jackbox Games is committed to providing opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, creed, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, national origin, ancestry, age, veteran status, or disability.
Thanks for your interest in Jackbox Games!
