Job description

A Foundational Company

Rilla is on a mission to index the offline world.

Today, we've built the leading sales coaching software for organizations doing sales offline. We have over 1000 customers, including The Home Depot, KKR, Neighborly, and PulteGroup, using our product to enable AI sales coaching across their organization.

We are backed by Google Ventures, Bessemer Ventures, Crew Capital, and Broom Ventures, along with others.

We're an in-office team in NYC with builders who operate like high-speed reinforcement learners. We obsess over our customers, move at a high velocity, are not afraid of failure, and look to maximize our real-world impact.

If you want to build the products and systems for how billions of conversations in the real world are captured and indexed, Rilla is the place to do it.

The Role

As Rilla scales, so does the trust our customers place in us and the compliance and IT backbone that trust runs on. This is a founding role to own it end to end.

You'll maintain SOC 2, and drive HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 27001 from the ground up. Today this work is done manually, and it doesn't scale. Your job is to turn compliance from a recurring fire drill into an automated, AI-native system that runs itself.

We're looking for a builder who reaches for AI first, automates the boring parts, and treats audits as engineering problems. You'll sit on our BizOps team and work across engineering, HR, legal, and leadership — the connective tissue that keeps everyone moving fast without breaking things that are hard to un-break.

You'll also own the IT foundation itself: device management, network troubleshooting, and general IT ops. There's no dedicated IT system in place today, so you'll get to design it right the first time.

What You'll Do
  • Own and maintain SOC 2, and drive HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 27001 to completion

  • Automate compliance workflows with AI so audit readiness is continuous, not a scramble

  • Build the systems, evidence pipelines, and processes that let us operate in regulated environments at speed

  • Translate between engineering, HR, legal, and leadership. Turning ambiguous requirements into clear, tracked, delivered work

  • Own device management, network troubleshooting, and day-to-day IT operations

  • Stand up our IT foundation from scratch and choose the tooling we'll grow into

  • Create clear, trusted visibility into compliance and IT status for leadership

  • Hold vendors and auditors accountable to timelines and outcomes

Who You Are
  • An infinite learner. Someone relentless in their curiosity — incredibly AI-curious, and always reaching for the tool or automation before the manual grind.

  • A builder, not a box-checker. You see compliance and IT as systems to engineer, not checklists to babysit.

  • A winning attitude. You thrive with extreme accountability, learning as a team, and both giving and receiving rapid feedback.

  • Extreme clarity in communication. You can bridge engineering, HR, legal, and leadership and leave every room more aligned than you found it.

  • Unafraid of failure. You take risks and treat failure as an opportunity to learn, grow, and be better the next time.

What We Require
  • A strong technical foundation. A computer science background or equivalent hands-on technical ability

  • Genuine fluency with AI tools, and a track record of using them to automate real work

  • Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences

  • Comfort shipping in ambiguity, with a bias for driving clarity and removing blockers

  • The judgment to operate in regulated systems where the details matter

Nice to Have
  • Prior compliance experience, SOC 2 at minimum

  • Hands-on experience with HIPAA, GDPR, or ISO 27001

  • Experience standing up IT or device management for a growing team

Prior compliance experience is a plus, not a hard requirement. If you're a fast, technical learner who's hungry to own this, we want to hear from you.

Don't Work Here

Please don't join if you're not excited about:

  1. Building the compliance and IT systems for an industry untouched by modern software

  2. Reaching for AI and automation before you reach for a spreadsheet

  3. Working ~60 hrs/week in person with some of the most ambitious people in NYC

  4. Attempting to build a generational company, and the intensity required to do so

Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000/year + equity

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and supplementary food and drink

  • World-class gym, sauna, and cold plunge in office

  • Commuter benefits

  • Relocation assistance

  • Take what you need paid time off, not accrual-based

  • $1,000 stipend for learning and personal growth

  • $1,500/month rent stipend

  • Tech equipment
