Job description

Position Overview:

As an Information Technology Network Engineer, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and decommissioning IT/OT network(s) for the business. Their duties include using their IT knowledge to maintain and monitor the company’s routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, and VoIP services. Coordinate with company leadership to identify network needs and aid employees and other IT members on how to use the network effectively and securely.

What You’ll Do:

  • Engineer and support IT projects.
  • Maintains integration between mission-critical software applications.
  • Monitor and maintain current network infrastructure.
  • Works with partner vendors (i.e., CIS/FIS, OMS, IVR, AMI, AVL, SCADA, Milsoft, and AMI systems) on software issues and updates.
  • Ensures compliance with security goals and policies, updating when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree and at least 5 years related experience, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least four related experiences in an enterprise IT Environment.
  • CompTIA A+, Network +, Project +, Security +, or (ISC)2 SSCP or (ISC)2 CISSP.
  • Must have knowledge of network data/VoIP infrastructure support, network security, and network monitoring, Microsoft Operating System, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware, and software, including applications and programming.
  • Must have the following skills and abilities: critical thinking-using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches; systems analysis skills-to determine how systems should work and how changes will affect outcomes; complex problem solving-to identify problems and review information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions; judgment and decision making-to consider the costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Must provide excellent customer service by telephone, in writing, e-mail, or in person.
  • Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY NETWORK ENGINEER Page: 2 of 6, and programming. Administering Microsoft physical and virtual servers and Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access controllers, and VPNs required. As well as compliance with security standards and policies following ITIL, NERC, & NIST SP 800-53, SP 800-171, SP 800-172 Standards
  • Customer Service— Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. Including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Microsoft MCSA, Cisco CCNA and a network/cyber security certification equal to Network+ required.
  • CISCO CCNA with Cisco CCNP certifications
