Job description

The Technology Services department of the Wayne County Airport Authority is responsible for providing and managing the Airport Authority’s technology needs for both Detroit Metro (DTW) and Willow Run (YIP) airports. The Airport Authority is seeking qualified candidates for a full time, on-site IT project manager who will utilize their knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist with implementation and ongoing support of technology projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Execution: develop detailed project plans, define scope, set timelines, and manage project budget technology initiatives.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks.
  • Serve as primary point of contact between project team, stakeholders, vendors and leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to technical standards, obtain approval of and track exceptions.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including work plans, schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Facilitate training and support for end-users of new systems or applications.
  • Perform related duties as directed.
Required Skills
  • Technical Acumen: Understanding of IT concepts, software development, web technologies, cloud computing, and IT infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide teams, excellent communication skills, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Education Requirement
  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field. OR
  • High School Diploma with Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience working in an enterprise environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Three (3) years working as a Project Manager with at least one (1) year in technology
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) OR five (5) years working as a Project Manager with at least two (2) years in technology
  • Proficiency in structuring and administering Microsoft Teams channels, files and permissions.
Preferred Qualifications (or equivalent)
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Successful delivery of a complex or large-scale IT projects
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Smartsheet.
