This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing IT systems that directly support NOAA’s mission-critical operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and able to lead both technical efforts and team coordination in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead day-to-day IT operations, including systems, networks, infrastructure, and user support.
  • Manage IT projects by creating execution plans, coordinating resources, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operating instructions, and system specifications.
  • Work closely with cybersecurity and DevOps teams to support secure, automated, and compliant system operations.
  • Support NOAA’s mission by ensuring IT systems are resilient, reliable, and aligned with organizational requirements.
  • Assess and mitigate security risks, support system certification and accreditation, and help maintain compliance with federal and organizational standards.
  • Stay current on evolving technologies and recommend improvements that enhance performance, efficiency, and security.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of relevant IT experience, including leadership or project coordination responsibilities.
  • Strong background in IT operations, systems administration, networking, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience supporting secure environments and working with risk management or compliance frameworks.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a mission-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, Security+, or cloud platform credentials.
  • Prior experience supporting federal agencies, scientific operations, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Familiarity with standards such as NIST, FISMA, or FedRAMP.

Why Join NetCentric?

  • Opportunity to support NOAA’s vital mission in weather forecasting, environmental monitoring, and scientific research.
  • Collaborative environment with strong technical teams.
  • Impactful work that supports national infrastructure and public safety.
