Position Summary
The Design Engineer Intern will support the team through a structured capstone project aligned to key business needs. This role offers hands-on experience in an industrial safety manufacturing environment, exposure to real-world challenges, and the opportunity to present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will vary by function but may include:
  • Execute a design-focused capstone project supporting new product development or existing product improvement
  • Create and modify CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation
  • Support design reviews, testing, and validation activities
  • Assist with engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs) and documentation updates
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and compliant
  • Analyze design performance, materials, and cost considerations
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and quality reviews as appropriate
  • Participate in Intern Week, professional development sessions, and networking events
  • Present final project outcomes and recommendations during Capstone Presentations to leadership

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
    (Engineering, Operations, EHS, Finance, Business, Marketing, HR, Analytics, or related discipline)

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Curiosity, initiative, and interest in industrial manufacturing or safety solutions
