Description:

The IT Instructor & Technology Support Specialist will teach essential technology skills including Microsoft Office applications, digital literacy, and foundational IT concepts while also supporting the school’s day-to-day technology operations. This hybrid role blends classroom instruction with hands-on technical support, helping students build the skills they need for college, careers, and the Corporate Work Study Program.

Technology Support
  • Provide Tier 1–2 technical support to students, faculty, and staff (devices, accounts, software, classroom tech).
  • Assist with setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of school technology, including laptops, printers, projectors, and networked devices.
  • Support onboarding of new staff and students with accounts, devices, and training.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of devices and assist with device deployment and collection.
  • Collaborate with external IT partners or vendors as needed.
Instruction
  • Teach courses in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), digital literacy, keyboarding, and introductory IT concepts.
  • Develop engaging, culturally responsive lessons aligned with Cristo Rey’s college-prep curriculum.
  • Assess student progress and provide targeted support to ensure mastery of technical skills.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Work Study Program staff to align instruction with workplace expectations.
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
Requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy.
  • Experience teaching, tutoring, training, or mentoring youth or adults.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Commitment to the mission of Cristo Rey schools and serving diverse learners.
  • Ability to multitask and balance instructional and technical responsibilities.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, or related field.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Office Specialist, CompTIA A+, Google IT Support**).
  • Experience in K–12 education or youth development.
  • Experience with school technology systems (LMS, SIS, device management tools).
  • Experience working in a faith-based or mission-driven environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
