Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Information Technology Instructor is responsible for providing Information training programs to Goodwill clients and employees. This position will develop lesson plans, deliver training and provide other related services to assigned clients, employees, and customers to enable them to improve their Information Technology skills and to prepare students and graduates for employment in the IT industry. Must have excellent oral and written communication. The instructor should have the ability to teach and train students in a traditional classroom and virtual classroom setting and have excellent presentation skills. Must have good interpersonal and observational skills to assess employees' and clients; understanding and progress and make any necessary adjustments to the training. The IT instructor must have good analytical and planning skills to assess training needs and develop/adapt programs to meet those needs. They must have the ability to work well with and present training to a variety of people with different learning styles. They should have sound decision making and organizational skills. The instructor should have the ability to relate in a professional, courteous manner to other facility staff, within and outside of Goodwill.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Deliver Information Technology training and facilitate peer-learning sessions in a positive manner that stimulates learning and encourages student participation, promotes interpersonal skills development, and communication skills. Responsible for the educational instruction of students enrolled in The Academy at Goodwill, including but not limited to persons with disabilities and other special needs, that desire an opportunity to attain skills useful and necessary to getting a job, building a career, and retaining long-term employment. Instruction can take place both virtually and in-person. This duty is performed daily, about 45% of the time.
2. Evaluate student performance and maintain measurements of student progress toward student learning outcomes through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
3. Provide timely feedback to participants related to in-class instruction and progress. Offer one-on-one support to students as they progress throughout their training program. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
4. Directs structured learning experiences and performs evaluations and re-designs all training, as necessary. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
5. Provide and maintain monthly reports of training activities, student progress, and accomplishments. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
6. Assist with the recruitment of prospective students for IT courses, communicate with potential students who demonstrate interest through WIX. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
7. Create and maintain rosters and progress reports for each program. This position requires regular, documented communication with clients in each program. Maintain accurate documentation of program operations and services including, but not limited to, documentation required for student files, internal support systems, compliance, awarded grants, and electronic records. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
8. Maintain accurate data and case notes in Goodwill Industries of Arkansas data management system and work directly with the Operations Managers to ensure all data is reflective of the services being provided. This duty is performed about 5% of the time.
9. Assist GTEC Director and Operations Manager in developing classroom instruction, assessing skills attainment, and recommendations for placement of successful completers entering the workforce. This duty is performed as needed.
10. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. This duty is performed as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1.2-3 years classroom teaching experience; teaching in virtual settings is a plus.
2.Experience teaching in a high-needs community; ie: homeless, persons with disabilities, underemployed, unemployed, previously incarcerated, etc.
