Job Title: MES Infrastructure Support Engineer
Location: Minnetonka, Minnesota (Onsite)
Rate: $45 on C2C.

Summary: The MES Infrastructure Support Engineer will provide L2/L3 operational support for our global Manufacturing Execution System (MES) infrastructure across various manufacturing sites. This role is critical in ensuring the availability, performance, patching, backup/restore, and disaster recovery of the MES systems while adhering to IT/OT constraints. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a customer-service mindset.
Responsibilities:
Provide L2/L3 support for MES infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
Manage patching, backup/restore processes, and disaster recovery plans for MES systems.
Administer Windows and Linux servers, including virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
Oversee storage and backup operations, ensuring data integrity and availability.
Support basic database operations for MES backends, primarily using SQL.
Implement scripting and automation solutions using PowerShell and Bash to enhance operational efficiency.
Manage configuration and patch management processes to maintain system security and performance.
Ensure core IT/OT services (Active Directory, DNS, NTP, certificates) are functioning optimally.
Follow incident, change, and problem management practices to resolve issues effectively.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure seamless operations.
Document processes, incidents, and solutions rigorously to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Mandatory Skills:
Proven experience in infrastructure support, specifically within MES environments.
Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration.
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
Familiarity with storage and backup operations and monitoring.
Basic database support skills, particularly with SQL.
Proficient in scripting and automation (PowerShell/Bash).
Understanding of configuration and patch management practices.
Knowledge of core IT/OT services (AD/DNS/NTP, certificates) and system hardening techniques.
Experience with incident, change, and problem management practices.
Preferred Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact clearly with shop floor and central teams.
Customer-service mindset with a focus on collaboration.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
10 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure support, with a focus on MES systems.
Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft, VMware) are a plus.
