You will lead major capital projects involving transmission lines up to 500kV and complex substation upgrades, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality delivery while managing project portfolios that may include $25M+ infrastructure upgrade programs. As a Principal Transmission & Substation Project Manager YOU will: Lead major capital projects involving transmission lines up to 500kV and complex substation upgrades Ensure timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality delivery of all assigned projects Manage project portfolios including $25M+ infrastructure upgrade programs with oversight of scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder satisfaction Direct cross-state transmission line development initiatives Oversee integrated transmission and substation rebuilds Provide strong collaboration and cross-functional team management with utility clients and internal teams Deliver innovative solutions that meet evolving energy demands Demonstrate strong, thorough, and clear communication with inclusive leadership Utilize advanced tools and technologies including AI integration and digital transformation platforms Engage with the Digital Transformation Team to support integration of new tools and drive business success Mentor and develop project management teams Perform other duties as assigned YOU are the ideal Principal Transmission & Substation Project Manager candidate if you have: 15+ years of experience in the utility sector, with preference for candidates with electric transmission and substation project experience (required) Proven track record managing large-scale, complex electric transmission and substation project budgets of $25+ million (required) Deep understanding of PMI principles and best practices Strong knowledge of SCADA and communications systems Proficiency with Primavera P6 for schedule, budget, and workflow management Strong, thorough, and clear communication skills Inclusive leadership style with commitment to excellence Ability to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate with utility clients Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects It's a BONUS if you have: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, or related field PMP (Project Management Professional) certification Advanced degree in Project Management Experience with transmission line development and substation upgrades Knowledge of AI tools and digital transformation technologies Experience managing multi-state or cross-regional projects Experience with renewable energy or grid modernization initiatives About Our CLIENT Our Client is a national engineering and consulting firm with over 3,100 professionals dedicated to delivering innovative, sustainable solutions for utilities, infrastructure, and industrial clients.
