Job Description
The Datacenter Project Manager role exists to drive the successful, end-to-end delivery of complex data center control and infrastructure projects in response to expanding client operations and campus footprints. Reporting directly to the Program Manager, you will take ownership of multiple active projects simultaneously across various phases of construction, commissioning, and turnover. In this role, you will act as the vital bridge connecting field personnel, engineering resources, general contractors, subcontractors, and enterprise customers to ensure all project scopes align with strict technical and schedule requirements.
On a day-to-day basis, you will lead project coordination, direct stakeholder communication, manage documentation cycles, and track project financials from initial turnover to final closeout. You will collaborate closely with internal technical teams and external construction partners to proactively resolve site conflicts, address schedule or material delays, and support critical commissioning activities. Your work directly impacts customer satisfaction and operational reliability, ensuring critical data center environments are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee assigned BMS, EPMS, and IT infrastructure projects from initial turnover through final closeout.
  • Support the successful execution of multiple active data center projects across various campuses simultaneously.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for enterprise customers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Lead and participate in project meetings including OAC, scheduling, coordination, commissioning, and internal review sessions.
  • Prepare, submit, and track accurate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase requests, pay applications, and meeting notes.
  • Coordinate work sequencing, site access, scheduling activities, and system shutdowns with external project stakeholders.
  • Assist in managing project budgets, labor utilization, cost tracking, and financial forecasting.
  • Track project scope changes and communicate all financial and schedule impacts promptly.
  • Coordinate directly with field personnel to support installation progress, startup requirements, and issue resolution.
  • Drive project punch list resolution, closeout documentation, as-built tracking, and turnover requirements in real time.
  • Escalate significant project risks, budget variances, or customer concerns to the Program Manager in a timely manner.
  • Travel to project sites as necessary to support major project milestones, commissioning, and customer alignment.

Required Experience/Skills
  • Proven experience managing control systems or critical facilities projects, specifically involving BMS, EPMS, or IT infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated history of managing multiple projects simultaneously within fast-paced construction environments.
  • Strong background in client-facing roles with experience interacting with general contractors, subcontractors, and facility owners.
  • Hands-on experience managing project administrative workflows including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications.
  • Solid understanding of construction project accounting, budgeting, labor tracking, and financial forecasting.
  • Outstanding soft skills, including proactive communication, high attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining high responsiveness and accountability.

Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience working directly within the mission-critical data center sector.
  • Familiarity with field commissioning processes, system startups, and turnover sequences for automated control systems.
  • Proficiency with specialized project management tools, ticketing systems, and construction scheduling software.

Education
