OTI Lumionics is developing advanced materials-by design-using quantum simulations, machine learning and real-world testing in pilot production. We are currently focused on key enabling materials for OLED displays that will be used in next-generation consumer electronics and automotive. Our advanced electrode materials, and associated manufacturing technology, are being used to build transparent displays and lighting. We work closely with our partners and customers to design new materials that are mass-production ready. Using our computational Materials Discovery Platform, we can rapidly iterate new materials, allowing fast turnaround time to meet our customers' needs.

primary responsibilities
  • Lead the selection, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise hardware and software solutions aligned to business strategy
  • Provide advanced technical support and direction to internal teams, including remote and traveling employees, ensuring high service availability and user satisfaction
  • Own the monitoring, performance optimization, and scalability of IT infrastructure to support business growth and evolving operational demands
  • Design and implement preventative maintenance frameworks and system health strategies to minimize downtime and risk
  • Develop, standardize, and govern IT policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring consistency and audit readiness
  • Define and enforce cybersecurity best practices, including employee awareness programs and continuous improvement of security posture
  • Design, execute, and evaluate security awareness initiatives, including phishing simulations and training programs
  • Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of production networks, servers, and cloud/hybrid environments, including remote datacenters
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, vendors, and solutions to enhance performance, security, and cost-efficiency of infrastructure
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service delivery to ensure quality, accountability, and value optimization
  • Lead system upgrades, migrations, and transformation initiatives across physical and virtual infrastructure with minimal business disruption
  • Establish and maintain IT asset management practices, including inventory control, lifecycle tracking, and license compliance
  • Oversee procurement, configuration, and deployment of end-user devices, ensuring standardization and security compliance
  • Direct onboarding and offboarding processes, including identity/access management, asset allocation, and security protocols
  • Drive continuous improvement in IT service delivery processes
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and organizational standards, including data protection and privacy requirements
  • Lead risk assessments, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on technology risks, opportunities, and innovation
  • Ensure compliance with environmental policies, procedures, and objectives, and actively participate in the identification and reduction of environmental impacts related to the role
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, report hazards, and contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned
profile
  • 5-8+ years' experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or operations
  • Strong background in managing enterprise environments (onprem and cloud/hybrid)
  • Proven experience leading IT projects, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Experience with vendor management and supporting distributed teams
  • Post-secondary education in IT or equivalent experience; relevant certifications an asset
required skills
  • Experience with Windows Server, Linux, Ubuntu, AWS, Azure, Office 365, HPC, MySQL, GSuite, Active Directory, Veeam software and Microsoft Intune
  • Knowledge of network tools and standard methodologies (VPNs (Virtual Private Network), Switching, Load Balancing, Remote Management)
  • Proficiency and strong knowledge base in computer and server hardware, networking infrastructure, server software
  • Experience with production Clusters and their problems
  • Experience with managing network device portals
  • Experience with Virtual infrastructure (servers, VDIs, switches, VMs)
  • Flair with manipulating and presenting data in Google Docs, Excel or otherwise
  • Knowledge of network hardware, software, and peripherals equipment.
  • Knowledge of network security systems, procedures, techniques, and applications.
  • Industry certifications and memberships (CCNA/CCNP) will be considered an asset

$75,000 - $110,000 a year
